This mahjong set is styled to have the look and feel of a traditional American Bakelite set. Buttery tiles sit atop comfortably beautiful wooden racks, and a wooden rosewood veneer case with felt lining gives this set an understated elegance. This set has 166 tiles, including all the 144 tiles for classical Chinese play as well as an extra 22 tiles for the American version of the game. With this set you can comfortably play either version. To play the Chinese version simply use the red dragons as the 'hong zhong' and the green dragons as the 'fa' tiles.

I have been a player for 63 yrs and recently puchased this set in addition to the vintage set I also own.Whille two of thet iles are a little smudge it doesnot take away from this beautiful set and have received comments re the set easy to read the tiles. This set is worth a beautiful one.

This Mahjong set is great. After using it a couple of my friends are interested in buying the exact set. Love the quality of the tiles and wooden racks and the red wood case is so pretty I don't store it in a closet, instead, I leave it out for people to see and ask about. I had read the reviews from others on this set and that is what made me buy it. I am so happy that I took their advice.

This is a beautiful game and one that could be displayed in your home. It's quite heavy so I really don't think that it's the best choice for carrying to another location. I would also be afraid of scratching the lovely wooden case. I love this game and the price was excellent compared to others I've seen. There is one issue though... it has a strong odor...not terribly unpleasant... but very strong. It may be the felt lining or perhaps the glue. This may bother some. And there are no sliders which some players might miss.
