| Editorial Reviews:
Product Description The NEW Spode Judaica Seder Plate is an elegantly designed plate to be used during the Passover holiday. This Seder Plate which is placed in the middle of the table holds certain symbolic foods. A specific space is identified in Hebrew for each type of food served at the Seder meal, and the plate is indented in those areas to hold the food in place. The design on the Spode Judaica Seder plate is based on historic Judaic manuscripts from the 1880's, influenced by early ceramic tile motifs, and features the traditional Judaic colors of blue and white. The dominant motif consists of stylized flowers and vines, interwoven amongst the straight-edged Star of David.
Amazon.com Review Traditional and beautiful, this 12-3/4-inch Seder plate from Spode’s Judaica line is an elegant and tasteful addition to the Passover holiday. Inspired by historic Jewish manuscripts, the plate combines a soft white background with multi-hued, transfer-technique blue glazing. The pattern blends intricate flowers and vines, delicate scrollwork, and the Star of David. Hexagonal indentations are marked with images and words in Hebrew script, creating ceremonial space for separate types of food. Crafted from fine earthenware in England, the plate is markedly light in the hand but safe in the microwave and dishwasher. With its graceful lines and traditional colors, it is beautiful alone or in combination with other pieces from Spode’s Judaica serving line. --Emily Bedard
